Our client is currently seeking a talented Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Co. Kildare and play a key role in project delivery and cost management.

As Quantity Surveyor you will take responsibility for all on-site Quantity Surveying duties and to send all necessary details and information to Head Office based QS Department. This will include various quantity surveying duties and management of subcontractors, materials management, quality management, resource management, Health & safety management, and general administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in providing all necessary information to Senior QS to compile interim valuation submissions for contracts (tick charts for progress, materials on site stock sheets etc.)
  • Assist QS Department in Procurement of subcontractors including compiling of tenders, replying to queries from subcontractors, assessing tenders and issuing contract documents at appointment
  • Managing subcontractor’s accounts throughout contracts from appointment to final accounts including issuing progress reports for payment recommendations, contract administration and assisting Managing Surveyor in settlement of subcontractor’s final accounts.
  • Assist Project Manager and Site Management team in assessing Construction Drawings and comparing to tender drawings and BOQs to identify variations
  • Record and evaluate Variations
  • Assist Site Management Team in Supervision of works generally (labour, Health & safety, Materials Management etc.)
  • Schedule materials for ordering (per unit type as far as is reasonably practicable – e.g., cills, lintels, door-sets, sanitary ware etc.) to facilitate ease of ordering, record keeping and traceability
  • Management of materials on site – assist in taking off quantities for ordering purposes and compiling Materials requisitions / orders. Taking monthly stock of materials on site. Completing goods returns sheets to confirm orders placed against orders received and reporting on discrepancies, anomalies, breakages etc.
  • Various other ad-hoc reporting & surveying duties

Requirements:

  • 3+ years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor in residential/commercial construction projects
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Experience in managing subcontractor accounts, including contract administration, progress reporting, and assisting in final account settlements
  • Strong analytical skills to assess construction drawings, compare tender documents, and identify variations effectively
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, with the ability to assist in tender preparation, subcontractor assessments, and contract documentation
  • Experience in materials management, including scheduling, quantity take-offs, stock monitoring, and reporting discrepancies
