Achieving Multiple ISO Certifications
Crewit Resourcing was recently awarded multiple ISO certifications in recognition of their management systems.
The company management systems that we have in place were audited against a range of criteria by Alcumus ISOQAR, a respected UKAS accredited certification body. As a result, we have been awarded three certifications in demonstration of exceeding the guidelines, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

What ISO Certifications Did We Achieve?
Our management system was tested against a range of criteria, leading to the awarding of certification in three standards:
ISO 9001: 2015 – Quality Management System. Proving our commitment to quality in everything that we do.
ISO 14001: 2015 – Environmental Management. Proving our commitment to the environment and a better world for the future in everything that we do.
ISO 45001: 2018 – Occupational Health and Safety. Proving our commitment to our candidates and team members’ safety in everything that we do.

What are International Standards Organization Standards?
ISO standards are an agreed set of criteria internationally agreed upon by experts. Managed and governed by the International Standards Organisation, certification against these criteria can be achieved by business globally, providing that they meet the standard’s criteria. These standards can be for a range of activities, such as delivering service, caring for the environment or managing people’s data.

What is Safe Pass and the Safe Pass Course?
Safe Pass is a programme in Ireland designed to improve and standardize the health and safety of construction sites in Ireland. It comprises of a one-day safety awareness course that is mandatory for most on-site construction workers.
The programme is managed by the state agency SOLAS and delivered by approved tutors across Ireland. Requiring the certificate on construction sites does not exempt the employer from any health and safety responsibilities, instead aims to regulate a baseline standard for awareness.
Do I need Safe Pass?
Safe Pass is mandatory on construction site in Ireland for roles such as Craft Workers, General Construction Workers, Drivers and Security Staff. Alongside qualified workers, it also applies to Apprentices, Trainees and Students that are on the site.

How can I take the Safe Pass course?
Safe Pass courses take place regularly across Ireland. You will need to find an approved tutor and book your course through them. The typical cost for this is between €150-200 depending on the training provider. You can find an approved tutor at constructioncourses.ie
Safe Pass qualification expires every 4 years and will need to be renewed by attending another training course. You will then be issued a new card.
Replacement cards cost €32 and can be obtained via the SOLAS website.
Your training will last a day and comprise of the following units:
- Introduction of Site Safety
- Legislation and Site Safety
- Site Accident Reporting
- Introduction to Risk Assessment
- Risk Assessment for Electricity
- Risk Assessment for Evacuations
- Risk Assessment for Heights
- Behaviour-Based Safety
- Site Safety and Construction Equipment
- Site Safety and Construction Vehicles
- Personal Health and Welfare
- Noise and Vibration
- Personal Protective Equipment
Once you’ve completed the training, the provider will upload results onto the SOLAS system and the card will be issued to them.
Safe Pass Jobs- What jobs can I get?
From specific crafts through to apprentice roles, being a holder opens the doors to a variety of on-site construction roles in Ireland. We have outlined some of the common ones below:
Construction Site Cleaner
Requirements: Safe Pass, Manual Handling, Some experience as a cleaner.
Duties: Handover cleaning including carpets, furniture, windows. The final clean before the client hands over the site.
Average Salary: €12ph

General Operative
Requirements: Safe Pass, Manual Handling, 1-2 years experience on a construction site.
Duties: Assisting trades and other experienced workers on-site to complete tasks, cleaning work areas, moving materials etc. This is a good route for general operatives to move up the ladder and become a skilled labourer or learn a trade.
Average Salary: €14-15ph

Teleporter Driver
Requirements: Safe Pass, Manual Handling, CSCS Tele Operative Ticket
Duties: Driving a telehandler plant machine whilst assisting all sub-contractors and trades personnel on-site by providing them with all relevant materials to complete their contracts. Offloading delivery trucks, moving materials onto loading bays, assisting site cleanup, moving heavier materials around the site for certain contractors to perform duties.
Average Salary: €17-20ph

As the UK and Ireland react to the new illness COVID-19 caused by Coronavirus, businesses and organisations are publishing measures that they are putting in place to protect their workforce and sustain their businesses.
We would like to reassure you that Crewit Resourcing is taking the situation seriously, and have been monitoring the situation for some time. Alongside our clients, we are putting in place measures to keep our workers safe and projects operational.
We’d like to make all candidates and clients aware of the following precautions we are taking. These include:
- Reminding workers and site managers of the NHS advice regarding COVID-19 and coronavirus.
- Alongside safety, our priority is to provide continuous work for our workforce. Therefore, we’ll be supporting clients’ as they do everything possible to keep projects operational and safe for work.
- Our Crewit Resourcing UK and Crewit Resourcing Ireland teams will be working from home for the foreseeable future; however, our phone lines will remain open as usual.
NHS Advice
We are reminding workers to be aware of the NHS advice for avoiding catching and spreading coronavirus. This includes:
- Wash your hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 20 seconds.
- Always wash your hands when you get home or into work.
- Use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available.
- Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze.
- Put used tissues in the bin immediately and wash your hands afterwards.
- Avoid close contact with people who have symptoms of coronavirus.
- Only travel on public transport if you need to.
- Avoid social activities, such as going to pubs, restaurants, theatres and cinemas.
- Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean.
- Do not have visitors to your home, including friends and family.
